Distant Objects

As in previous years, the Museum of Bath at Work will be participating in the Bath Festival Opening Night. Join in on Friday May 17th, 7.30 onwards, for Party in the City 2019. The museum is showcasing two local musical ensembles: Flemp and Distant Objects.

Flemp create improvised world music. They use percussion and instruments from across the globe, and have composed musical pieces expressly for performance at the Museum of Bath at Work. The performance will take place in the displays of the Museum’s Bowler Collection. Stillness and Dissonance- The perfect antidote to post-Brexit anxiety!

Distant Objects create funk noir, a tense and spacious sound for dancing, reflecting on and wondering about. Instrumental with percussion breaks where you can join the band and hit something – ideally not one of the band or anything from the museum collections. Film Projections too. Tremendous fun.

Entrance to this Party in the City event is free.

Venue: Museum of Bath at Work, Julian Rd, Bath
